CDF Angus Campbell should be ‘sacked yesterday’: Alan Jones
Sky News host Alan Jones says Chief of Defence Force Angus Campbell should be “sacked yesterday” as veterans continue to face “shocking” mental health in the wake of the Brereton report.
“Vets have lost their jobs, been stood down, lost pay,” Mr Jones said. “Their mental health is shocking, but these gutless wonders who head up the Defence Force – and that’s the only way that they can be described”.
“The Chief of the Defence Force Angus Campbell has never fired a weapon in anger”. “But they are brazen in their brutal treatment of vets.”
Mr Jones spoke with retired special forces commander Heston Russell about the issue. “There are pragmatic actions and processes and interventions that could be taken today or tomorrow, but what we continue to see is the government provide distraction,” Mr Russell said.
“At the same time inflicting further moral injury and moral trauma on those veterans who don’t feel respected.”
